Gable plates are also called multi-walled or tunnel sheets. These sheets consist of at least two layers of plastic with small partitions in between. These form open hollow spaces next to each other. The partitions connect the plastic sheets at the top and bottom. This gives the sheet its special stability.

At Kunststof Forte Belgium, the 8 mm polycarbonate channel sheet is available in clear/transparent or opal. The sheet is available in different lengths (2000 mm, 2500 mm, 3000 mm, 3500 mm and 4000 mm) and is produced in 1050, 1800 and 2100 mm widths.

The polycarbonate channel plates are available in thicknesses of 4 mm, 6 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm, 16 mm and 25 mm.

Description

Gable plates are also called multi-walled or tunnel sheets. These sheets consist of at least two layers of plastic with small partitions in between. These form open hollow spaces next to each other. The partitions connect the plastic sheets at the top and bottom. This gives the sheet its special stability.

At Kunststof Forte Belgium, the 8 mm polycarbonate channel sheet is available in clear/transparent or opal. The clear sheet allows up to 69 % of light through and the opal sheet allows up to 45 % of light through. It is advisable to choose the opal colour if you want to keep the sun out more. This also makes a big difference in the heat it lets through.

Polycarbonate channel plates are available in different thicknesses (4 mm, 6 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm, 16 mm and 25 mm) and different lengths and widths.

Because the sheets are made of polycarbonate, they are protected against UV light, flexible, competitively priced and (almost) indestructible! The channel plates are lightweight plates and easy to handle. They also spring along, so that they can absorb a lot of weight.

The 4 mm plate is 2-walled. There are no other versions.

Applications - Polycarbonate Channel 8 mm

The 6 mm channel plate is one of the thinner channel plates. Because of this, this sheet is still reasonably flexible, and you can easily bend the material cold, and it can also be put into a frame in a certain curve.

Flexibility has advantages and disadvantages. It is perfectly suitable as a windbreak, protective sheet or window. It can also be used as a roofing sheet.

The maximum span without support is 40 cm. We would not recommend any longer, as the sheet will sag. If you want to make a longer span, the board must be stiffer and a thicker board is recommended.

Processing options

The polycarbonate channel plates have countless processing possibilities. For instance, you can bend the sheet hot and cold, saw, drill, polish, facet, matting and print.

You can easily cut the sheets to size yourself using a fine saw.
