Description
Gable plates are also called multi-walled or tunnel sheets. These sheets consist of at least two layers of plastic with small partitions in between. These form open hollow spaces next to each other. The partitions connect the plastic sheets at the top and bottom. This gives the sheet its special stability.
At Kunststof Forte Belgium, the polycarbonate channel sheet in 6 mm is available in clear/transparent or opal. The clear sheet allows up to 69 % of light through and the opal sheet allows up to 45 % of light through. It is advisable to choose the opal colour if you want to keep the sun out more. This also makes a big difference in the heat it lets through.
Polycarbonate channel plates are available in different thicknesses (4 mm, 6 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm, 16 mm and 25 mm) and different lengths and widths.
Because the sheets are made of polycarbonate, they are protected against UV light, flexible, competitively priced and (almost) indestructible! The channel plates are lightweight plates and easy to handle. They also spring along, so that they can absorb a lot of weight.
The 6 mm plate is 2-walled. There are no other versions.
Applications
The 6 mm channel plate is one of the thinner channel plates. As a result, this plate is still reasonably flexible, and you can also easily bend the material. If you want to put the plate under a certain eye under a frame, this is no problem. Because the plate is so flexible, it cannot be used everywhere.
The 6 mm polycarbonate channel plate can be used perfectly for a garden greenhouse, glass replacement of small windows or a windbreak. When it comes to small dimensions, 6 mm is a good choice.
Processing options
The polycarbonate channel plates have countless processing possibilities. For instance, you can bend the sheet hot and cold, saw, drill, polish, facet, matting and print.
You can easily cut the sheets to size yourself using a fine saw.
