Description
Gable plates are also called multi-walled or tunnel sheets. These sheets consist of at least two layers of plastic with small partitions in between. These form open hollow spaces next to each other. The partitions connect the plastic sheets at the top and bottom. This gives the sheet its special stability.
At Kunststof Forte Belgium, the polycarbonate channel sheet in 16 mm is available in clear/transparent or opal. The clear sheet allows up to 69 % of light through and the opal sheet allows up to 45 % of light through. It is recommended to choose the opal colour if you want to keep the sun out more. This also makes a big difference in the heat it lets through.
Polycarbonate channel plates are available in different thicknesses (4 mm, 6 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm, 16 mm and 25 mm) and different lengths and widths.
Because the sheets are made of polycarbonate, they are protected against UV light, flexible, competitively priced and (almost) indestructible! The channel plates are lightweight plates and easy to handle. They also spring along, so that they can absorb a lot of weight.
Applications - Polycarbonate Channel 25 mm
The 25 mm plate is 5-walled and has an M-structure, which makes this plate particularly strong. This is also the only plate that is made in 25 mm thickness. There are no alternatives.
The sturdiness of this polycarbonate channel sheet makes it possible to create large spans of up to 120 cm. This makes the sheet suitable for greenhouse construction, where long lengths and widths are often required and where they want as little grid as possible.
They are also often used for a greenhouse, veranda, extension or skylight. But they are also excellent for use as windbreaks, protective plates or as replacements for glass.
The maximum span is 120 cm and this is almost always possible. The consideration between the 16 mm, 25 mm or 32 mm thickness will have to lie in the span that the plate has to make for your application.
