Description
Gable plates are also called multi-walled or tunnel sheets. These sheets consist of at least two layers of plastic with small partitions in between. These form open hollow spaces next to each other. The partitions connect the plastic sheets at the top and bottom. This gives the sheet its special stability.
At Kunststof Forte Belgium, the polycarbonate channel sheet in 10 mm is available in clear/transparent or opal. The clear sheet allows up to 69 % of light through and the opal sheet allows up to 45 % of light through. It is advisable to choose the opal colour if you want to keep the sun out more. This also makes a big difference in the heat it lets through.
Polycarbonate channel plates are available in different thicknesses (4 mm, 6 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm, 16 mm and 25 mm) and different lengths and widths.
Because the sheets are made of polycarbonate, they are protected against UV light, flexible, competitively priced and (almost) indestructible! The channel plates are lightweight plates and easy to handle. They also spring along, so that they can absorb a lot of weight.
The 10 mm plate is 4-walled. There are no other versions available. The 10 mm polycarbonate channel plate differs from the 4, 6 and 8 mm plates in this, these are 2-walled.
The 4-walled plate also makes it much stiffer and stronger.
Applications - Polycarbonate Channel plate 10 mm
The Polycarbonate Channel Plate in 10 mm is one of the most frequently used plates because it is reasonably stiff and can be used for several different applications. The sheet can still (just like the 4, 6 and 8 mm) be bent slightly and put into a frame cold under a certain curve.
This plate is especially suitable as a roof plate for a greenhouse, veranda, or extension. It is also good to use as a windbreak, protective sheet or as a glass replacement. The maximum span for a roofing sheet is 80 cm. Would you like to make a larger span? Then the 16 mm is recommended.
Processing options
The polycarbonate channel plates have countless processing possibilities. For instance, you can bend the sheet hot and cold, saw, drill, polish, facet, matting and print.
You can easily cut the sheets to size yourself using a fine saw.
