Gable plates are also called multi-walled or tunnel sheets. These sheets consist of at least two layers of plastic with small partitions in between. These form open hollow spaces next to each other. The partitions connect the plastic sheets at the top and bottom. This gives the sheet its special stability.

At Kunststof Forte Belgium, the polycarbonate channel sheet in 16 mm is available in clear/transparent or opal. The sheet is available in different lengths (2000 mm, 2500 mm, 3000 mm, 3500 mm and 4000 mm) and is produced in 980, 1050, 1200, 1800 and 2100 mm widths.

The polycarbonate channel plates are available in thicknesses of 4 mm, 6 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm, 16 mm and 25 mm.

Description

Gable plates are also called multi-walled or tunnel sheets. These sheets consist of at least two layers of plastic with small partitions in between. These form open hollow spaces next to each other. The partitions connect the plastic sheets at the top and bottom. This gives the sheet its special stability.

At Kunststof Forte Belgium, the polycarbonate channel sheet in 16 mm is available in clear/transparent or opal. The clear sheet allows up to 69 % of light through and the opal sheet allows up to 45 % of light through. It is recommended to choose the opal colour if you want to keep the sun out more. This also makes a big difference in the heat it lets through.

Polycarbonate channel plates are available in different thicknesses (4 mm, 6 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm, 16 mm and 25 mm) and different lengths and widths.

Because the sheets are made of polycarbonate, they are protected against UV light, flexible, competitively priced and (almost) indestructible! The channel plates are lightweight plates and easy to handle. They also spring along, so that they can absorb a lot of weight.

Applications - Polycarbonate Channel 16 mm

The 16 mm plate is multi-walled and has an X structure running through it. This ensures extra solidity. Besides the X-structure, there is also the 7-walled version. (This is used less, because the X-structure is a stronger sheet).

The sheets are widely used as roofing sheets, which is why they are stronger and more durable, and can also make large spans. The X-structure helps with this.

The maximum span for a roof panel is 100 cm. In most cases, 16 mm is quite suitable.
They do not recommend much larger spans, but if there is no other way, there is the 25 mm plate.

The sheets are also often used for a greenhouse, veranda, extension or skylight, but also as a windbreak, protective sheet or glass replacement.
