Transparent extruded acrylic (PMMA) sheets | XT
Acrylate is also known as 'Plexiglas' or 'Perspex'.
What is so special about 'ordinary' clear acrylic? The beauty lies in its clarity, it is even much clearer than glass. Acrylic has a very high light transmission of 92%, it is an optically pure material. The purity of this material is often reflected in the applications.
There are two main types of acrylate, cast and extruded. An advantage of cast acrylate is that it can easily be produced in small quantities, which offers flexibility. In addition to cast acrylate, we also have extruded clear acrylate, which has the advantage of having hardly any thickness tolerance.
Cast and extruded acrylic Clear acrylic is weather-resistant, UV-stable and does not yellow at all. It is lightweight, practically unbreakable and easy to process.
It is also up to 25 times stronger than glass and easier to process. Acrylate is often used in the lighting industry, because it is a beautiful material in combination with acrylate, it catches the light and conducts it. Furthermore, this plastic is very durable. If you use and maintain the sheets properly, they will remain beautiful for years.
